Quince was watching Ratatouille today and felt inspired to create in the kitchen. I gave him brief instructions: use the smallest pot(I figured this would ensure a smaller amount that we would be obligated to consume) and fill with water to boil first then add your ingredients. He had a blast!

Quince's has
dubbed this "Q's
Sunday stew". I admit I was very skeptical when I gave him permission to cook up an original recipe for dinner. I have fond memories of
Ammon's creations when we were younger and he loved to make his own recipes. I must admit he was fairly scientific. He had watched mom enough to know that flour and water were a main staple so he was always trying to find the right consistency. Do you remember his banana cake he cooked in the microwave? Yum...Ha Ha Peg said he made her a very special shake once. It was a beautiful smooth red in color and looked delicious. One gulp revealed that the red was not strawberries but tomatoes.... Enough said...
Quince's very first original recipe was a hit. I think that it is the most delicious soup I have ever eaten. Let's review the ingredients: red potatoes, celery, carrots, onion, Italian seasoning, 3 chicken bouillon cubes, rosemary, parsley, bay leaf, garlic pepper blend, oregano, pizza seasoning, Mrs. Dash Garlic and Herb seasoning and a little salt to taste. Wow I really think he has something there. He had so much fun he created a dessert and talked Cheyenne into making a salad and we had a wonderful dinner.

That's great that he seems to have inherited Ammon's gift for experimentation with good results. Odd as they were his recipes were pretty good, most of them!
I've found that Ammon does that still, just kind of throws things into the pot or pan and it always seems to taste good. I am one that likes to have a recipe to follow so that I can be sure of the results.
