Flagstaff with Quince

There is just something about Flagstaff.  Quince and I went up and spent the weekend with Peggy and Mom and Dad.  We had a really good time.  Dad and Quince went exploring and Quince loved it.  They went to the train station and Quince got to flatten a penny.  COOL!!  Thanks Papa!  Mom, Peggy and I went shopping, YEAH!!  Ok, it was a new kind of shopping for me, but hey we had a great time and found some great deals..  We went to savers :)  and one of our favorite book stores, "bookmans".  It was a very fun day full of laughs and inside jokes.  I love spending time with my sisters and mom, that get my twisted humor. :0)

On Sunday afternoon we headed up the San Francisco Peaks.  It is so pretty up there.  Our original purpose was in search of fall colors.  We really didn't have any luck so we took some fun pictures instead.

This great tree stands all alone on the side of mountain.  What has it been through.  What could it tell us.  I always marvel at these old trees and how they withstand the elements when others around them give in.  I love the character of them.
Most if not all of its branches on the lower half are on only one side.( I  am sure they were removed by man) So, it wouldn't be considered a beautiful tree, but I thought it was beautiful.  I think many of us are like this tree, beauty is not always about what is on the outside.

Catching my Mom unawares is always tricky, she doesn't particularly like to be photographed.  I love this picture, she is eyeing the ski lift and I am sure it is going through her mind that there is not nearly enough of that seat or the surrounding bars to make her feel safe enough to ride in it. :)
Quince and Nana... Quince you are one lucky boy...
Nana always has a way of making a "pouter" smile :0)
Peg's theory is that this way she doesn't get in Mom's picture,  Oops she forgot about me.  This is a sweet picture of these two.  They have always had a special relationship.  I love to see them interact.  Nobody gets Peg like Mom :)

Quince you are such a sport to tolerate your Mom taking your picture. :) I had him shift his hat because the sun was making a big shadow over his face. I can't believe how grown up his is.  Where has time gone :)
Dad your eyes are sparkling..  This was a good day.
The view was so gorgeous.  I want to live on the side of this mountain.

Love this tree.......
