Junior High Gotta Love it "Not"

Do you remember Junior High? I don't think that it is was the greatest years of our lives. We were still trying to find out who we were and if we were okay with who we were. Some make it through with flying colors and others come through with lots of memories that they would rather just keep to ourselves. (I am not sharing those memories.) It is not until we are older that we realize that Junior High is just another necessary step to becoming who we are.

Greatness is in our future but in Junior High greatness is measured by what someone else says is great. Whether or not that cute boy notices us, or if we have a lot of friends. Come to think of it Junior High is like life. (We always want to be noticed by that cute boy and have friends all around us. ) Maybe it is in Junior High where it all begins.

Maybe we have things backwards and we need to go back to Kindergarten where everyone is your friend and no one judges you on what you are wearing and if your hair is combed perfect. They just want to play.

And maybe just maybe Junior High is the time when you first realize that the world is not rosy and it is time for you to have your very own opinion and be your very own self.

Either way you look at it Junior High is a mile marker in life. Although it is brief we must pass by it.

As a mom of a Junior High student I find myself lacking the perfect thing to say and to comfort. So yesterday while we were experiencing one of those Junior High days that we are glad is over I felt flowers were the only thing that could bring sunshine back into the day. I was right! They were exactly what the doctors prescribed. YEAH!!!

When I think back on my Junior High Days I can't believe how I survived. I moved to Utah in the middle of my seventh grade year. I didn't know anyone and I was painfully shy. The first week I ate lunch in the bathroom. I had no friends for a long time. So tell that to Cheyenne and she'll feel better. :) High School is a lot better but life will always have trials no matter what age you are.

I hated Junior High. SO much. Like I can't even explain to you, it was horrible. And high school, although full of "adventures" and soo many opportunities, is not much better. Please tell me that it gets better after this???
