Hook up the Cable? Sure I can do that.

Have any of you ever been made to feel dumb by a piece of electronic equipment?  Well I for one thought I was smarter than the cable box, but apparently I am not.

Who's brilliant idea was it to exchange the regular cable box for a DVR box?  Maybe it was mine, but my intentions were good.  I thought it would be nice if Randy could record the game while I watched the Home and Garden Channel.  (Okay that is not entirely true.  As all of you wives out there know,  it is most definitely the other way around)  My show will be recorded while I "cheer"on his favorite team.  Hey I am good with that, it gives me something to look forward to.

Well back to the infamous box.  I followed the instructions and plugged everything in.  NOTHING!!!  Well the box must be faulty because any airhead can plug in a cable box and have cable.  So I took the DVR back to cox and exchanged it for another DVR... NOTHING!!!  I went online to technical support and tried everything they suggest...NOTHING!!!  So it is now 6:54am  and I guess I will have to call a tech and have him come to my house and show me how inadequate I am at following the most basic directions.  (because we all know that when he shows up it will magically work or he will just have to power it on).  Then he will give me that patronizing look saved for stressed out moms and say "That's okay it happens to everyone".  Does it really? or do they just tell me that all of the time and then as soon as they are in their trucks headed down the road they are calling their fellow workers, "well just had another one.  You know the type the 'Self Proclaimed cable guy',  who thinks they can do it all but obviously forgot to plug in the box."

So I have come to the conclusion:  When the cable guy shows up act dumb, don't tell him how many hours I wasted before I finally gave up and called,  and most definitely don't admit that you thought any airhead could plug in a few cables.  JK

Okay I understand now, the same thing happens with cars. Your car does weird things until you take it to the mechanic and then it works perfectly. Of course you get that look from the mechanic that makes you feel like an idiot and you think maybe you did just imagine the problem! See told you I would leave a comment!!

Ha Ha!! At least you tried. I don't even attempt those things. So you get credit for trying.
