Olympics!!!!

Today the Cub scouts are having their own Olympics.  Quince is a member of Team Germany.  We have been invited to the closing ceremony at 1pm.
I can't wait to see what they have come up with.

This is for Quince's Team. (and Katarina Witt)

The Olympics have always been an exciting time for me.  It is a time of coming together, a time of dreaming, many times it meant a new crush, a lot of those athletes were really cute.
We, my siblings and the cousins, would  figure out the schedule o
f the events we would want to see and head to Grandma's down the road.(She was the only one with Satellite, so we could
watch our favorite events.)
If it was the summer Olympics I wanted to watch:  Gymnastics, Diving, Swimming, decathlon.  If it was the winter Olympics I wanted to watch:
Ice Skating, Ski Jumping, Luge, Bobsled,
Downhill, speed skating.
I always loved listening to each athletes story.  Not one athlete would make with out trials.  Some overcame such large obstacles that you couldn't help rooting for them even if they were not the home team.
There was of course favorites:
Katarina Witt

Mary Lou Retton

Mitch Gaylord
"His perfect '10'"

Bart Connors

 Greg Louganis

Shannon Miller, Dominique Moceanu, Kristi Yamaguchi, Florence Griffith Joyner, Jackie Joyner, Apollo Ono, Dan Jensen,Amanda Beard, Amy Van Dyken, Gary Hall Jr., Michael Phelps, and many who's name
alludes me.
I would watch each event and want to try it.  They made it look so easy.
My siblings and I got a lot of laughs out of our attempts.
The Olympics have always a special time.  They are an inspiration of what one can accomplish
 with hard work and talent.

Go Team U.S.A.
