Payday for many is a happy day. It means we can go crazy and do what ever it is that we have been waiting for. (we will worry about next week later) For me payday is usually a headache. I am hoping that all the drivers have their paperwork turned in and I get to figure out how much they each have to give to the government. (who we all know is never satisfied, and will always have their handout)
It never ceases to amaze me that somewhere in the past voters were convinced that raising taxes was a good idea. WHAT WERE THEY THINKING? The government takes 7.65% out of your gross pay for medicare and social security. They then require your employer to match that amount, so they are getting 15.3% of all the wages. (you will never see that money) Now because we know that 15.3% is not enough they also divide your income
into wage brackets and take another percent of your gross. If you make:
396.00 every two weeks they take 10%
Not more than 1306 every two weeks they take 15%
Not more than 3066 every two weeks they take 25%
Not more than 6404.00 they take 28%
Not more than 13833 they take 33%
anything above 13833 they take 35%
WOW!!!
So the Federal government is given a minimum of 25.3% of everything we make. Now I am no genius but didn't the Colonists go to war over 5% tax on tea. We sure have gotten smarter with time.
Now the Democrats would have us all believe that it is time to stop giving a tax break to the higher income earners. Is it just me or is 35% higher than 10% already. The lower income brackets sure make a lot of fuss about Their 10% or 15% that they have to pay but the higher incomes are not allowed to feel the same way.(I believe I have heard it said that they can afford it. Excuse me, can I have 35% of your $369.00. I don't think you would like that.) Okay so we raise the tax on the higher income people who already pay 25% more taxes than the lowest income. Does that make sense? Who pays the lower income people's wages. Oh, I don't know maybe the higher income people.... So a increase of taxes for the higher incomes is also a vote for a higher unemployment rate. (we are so smart)
Oh, I forgot we also give a minimum of 19% of our federal taxes to the State.
I get so upset when I hear our politicians saying that they are tired of the rich benefiting from tax cuts. Wow, when did you become rich making $75,000.00 a year.
I don't think so.
So let's see what the "rich" pay to have employees and pay their taxes. For each employee you match the 7.65% of your employees wages the government charges for Medicare and Social Security, you pay a percent of their gross wage for Workman's compensation(if you get hurt they pay pennies on the dollar) and if you have a dishonest employee and you have to fire him you are required to pay his unemployment for him to live on while he may or may not be looking for another job. To be considered a good employer you pay 100% of each of your employees medical-dental-vision insurance. You encourage your employees to plan for retirement by offering a company match into their 401K. Wow!
They are definitely not paying enough.
Let's take more from the hard working entrepreneur.
I think it is time for us to have a voice and really turn the finger around. It is not the higher incomes causing our problems. It is our politicians. They continue to pass laws that hurt us all. We have to work 20 plus years to retire, and then we take a huge pay cut for the rest of our lives, but our politicains have to complete one term to retire with full salary. How convient that they are the ones who are voting on everything that effects most of our lives.
Maybe that should be america's new retirement plan,
RUNNING FOR CONGRESS.
The more I think about all of this the more I hate payday. We work so hard for our money, but we are willing to let someone else decide how much of that hard earned money we pay them so that they can do a study on how long the average flight attendants nose is. (I think that that was money well spent. I could not take another flight without knowing that statistic.)
I have a definite love/hate relationship with payday.
